Because of the large number of contributed abstracts, we have been forced to divide technical sessions into 15 (!) parallel tracks. Our sincerest apologies.
Technical sessions will be held in classrooms with capacity varying from 450 (the Math 100 Auditorium) down to 45-50. Thirteen classrooms are located in the Engineering Center, one in the Math Building, and one in the Earth Sciences Building. One additional classroom has been reserved for backup in the Physics Building in case ECAE 1B16 becomes unavailable.
Of the 15 classrooms, eight are classified as "smart" in that they have built-in projection facilities including LCDs and VCRs. The other seven, which include ECCR 150, ECCR 151, ECCR 155, ECCR 1B51, ECCR 1B55, ECCE 1B41, and ECCE 141, are "dumb" or ordinary classrooms. The following presentation equipment will be provided:
VCRs will not be available at dumb classrooms as standard equipment. If you need a VCR for that kind of classroom, please contact Professor Stein Sture in advance of your session, and let him know your needs. Or have the chairman of your session contact Professor Sture. Only US format mobile VCRs are available.
There will be one student assistant in each classroom during the technical sessions to facilitate equipment operation and troubleshooting if necessary. Assistants are identified by a yellow badge.
Speakers with PowerPoint presentations are recommended to test laptop connection and screen projection in advance of the session.
Contributed paper speakers are allocated 20 minutes, 15 for presentation and 5 for discussion. Keynote speakers are allocated 40 minutes, 30 for presentation and 10 for discussion.
To make session and break synchronization possible, speakers are requested to stay within the allocated time. Session chairs are adviced to enforce timing strictly.
