Position Responsibilities

The Computational Scientist works as a member of a team to carry out complex or leading edge scientific and technical efforts related to research projects.   The incumbent is responsible for providing technical expertise to facilitate the design, implementation and analysis of procedures, techniques, and results which enable investigators to conduct research projects.

Qualifications
Master's degree in relevant field or discipline with 2 years of experience.
Degree should be in computational science and engineering (CSE), or engineering.
Advance algorithm and programming techniques with scientific computing languages and systems.
Specific background in parallel scientific and engineering computations.
Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), or Engineering is preferred.

- Requires ability to analyze and interpret technical and other data.

- Ability to work with scientists and engineers to apply scientific computation to advance their fields of study.
- Ability to work with industrial users to identify and apply advanced computing technologies to their areas of application.
- Ability to develop and deliver tutorials on high end computing.
- Ability to support community codes, software libraries.
- Provide expert input on use of software.
- Expertise in development and application of advanced parallel computing to solving engineering problems governed by partial differential equation using mesh based discretization technologies (e.g., finite elements, finite volume, partition of unity, finite difference.)
- Knowledge of at least one area of applications. Possible areas include fluid dynamics, microelectronics modeling, structural mechanics, thermal mechanics, etc.
