Responsibilities |
Third Wave Systems, a leading provider of metal cutting process analysis software and services to automotive, aerospace and cutting tool industries, has immediate openings for Computational Mechanics Engineers. As a member of a development team candidate’s responsibilities include development of finite element formulations for, and analysis of, metal cutting processes. Ideal candidates would have expertise in the areas of explicit, implicit, direct and iterative solution methodologies; thermo-mechanical coupled analysis, large deformation analysis, adaptive mesh generation, deformable contact, parallel computing, plasticity, and materials science or metallurgy. |
| Qualifications
|
The position requires an MS or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (knowledge of metal cutting processes a plus) and experience with programming languages (C, C++, OpenMP, MPI, Fortran 95/90/77), course work or industrial experience with CAE tools (particularly finite element analysis). CAD/CAM tools (Unigraphics, Catia, Pro-Engineer) a plus. |
