The University of New Mexico, Department of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position to conduct research in the modeling of sea ice mechanics. Successful candidates are expected to participate in multidisciplinary research activities, interact with students, and faculty, plan, coordinate and conduct scientific research and perform various scholarly activities.
The applicant should also have a background in numerical simulation, including parallel computing, and background in mechanics. Familiarity with the following areas is a plus: sea ice properties, the material-point method, computational inelasticity, fracture mechanics, Fortran 90.
